Two West Plains Juveniles Injured After Striking a Tree

West Plains, MO. – Two West Plains juveniles are recovering from injuries sustained from a vehicular accident on Sunday, May 7th.

The two female juveniles, 11 and 15, were in a Chevy 1500. The 15-year-old teen was the driver during this accident. The pair were driving Southbound on State Route BB, when at 3:30pm they travelled off the right side of the roadway. The driver attempted to reenter the roadway and overcorrected; the vehicle eventually stopped after they struck a tree off the left side of the roadway.

The 11-year-old sustained only minor injuries and was wearing their safety device. The driver was not wearing a safety device and sustained moderate injuries in the accident. They were taken to Ozarks Healthcare for treatment.

The investigator of this case was Corporal J.D. Wheeler of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.
