Royals 12, White Sox 5

The Royals erupted for an eight-run sixth inning to surge past the White Sox 12-5 in the series opener in Kansas City. Jackie Bradley Jr., MJ Melendez and Nick Pratto each recorded two-run hits in the sixth to lead to the win. Melendez finished 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and a pair of runs scored. Jose Cuas earned the win in relief. The Royals have won two straight to improve to 10-and-26. Dylan Cease was charged with the loss after allowing seven earned runs through five frames. Gavin Sheets hit his fourth homer of the season as the White Sox slipped to 12-and-24.
