Debra Jean Archer, 63 of Mtn. Grove, MO departed this life on June 4, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on May 16, 1960 in Cabool, MO the daughter of Merle and Ruby (Weatherman) Sanders.
Debra grew up on a small farm outside Dunn, MO the youngest of 8. It was on the farm she found her love for the outdoors. She would hunt mushrooms while gathering the cows to get milked or gigging frogs with her dad. She told a story once; how she out frogged her dad and his buddy with just a lantern and fishing pole along the banks of Austin lake.
She attended school there at Dunn’s one room school until she reached Junior High. It was on the bus to school where she met the man that would one day be her husband, Harold. Harold and Debra were united in marriage on May 17, 1979, and to this union two children were born, Scott and Crystal.
Debra worked many different factory jobs in her years and it was while working at Beehler’s in Mountain Grove that she was able to attain her GED in 2008. After Beehler’s was shut down a few years later she became a stay at home wife and grandma. There she watched over her flock of chickens and children and planted enough tomatoes for the block. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend to anyone who knew her.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Ruby Sanders and 2 brothers, Leonard and Ronald. Those who will continue to carry her in their hearts, husband, Harold Archer of the home; son, Scott Archer of Mtn. Grove; daughter, Crystal Archer of Mtn. Grove; 6 grandchildren, Tristin, Marissa, Destin, Adilyn, Matthew and Malachi; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; many nieces, nephews, family and close friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
