Driver airlifted following motorcycle crash south of West Plains

West Plains, MO. – A West Plains man was being treated at a Springfield hospital following a motorcycle crash involving a pick-up truck on Monday. According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 11:45 a.m. three miles south of West Plains on State Highway 17.

A northbound GMC Canyon driven by 72-year-old James Parks of West Plains pulled into the path of an oncoming Honda Shadow, driven by Micah Blanchette, age 37. The crash totaled the motorcycle and did moderate damage to the truck.

Blanchette had been wearing a helmet and suffered moderate injuries. He was taken by air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield for treatment. Parks was not listed as injured in the crash.
