Ellington Resident Injured, Facing DWI Charges Due to Crash

Ellington, MO. – A crash occurred at the intersections of County Roads 616 and 614, 2 miles South of Ellington, and one local resident has been injured and is facing a felony charge as a result.

Trooper Z.L. Ricker of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G was the investigator of this July 11th crash. It occurred at 5:30pm when a Chevy truck went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Richard Lucy, a 61-year-old Ellington resident was found to be the driver. He was unbuckled and suffered moderate injuries from the crash, which led to his transport via ground ambulance to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The driver is additionally facing a Felony charge of Driving While Intoxicated, which is typically obtained in Missouri by having at least two previous DWI convictions.
