Howell County Man Arrested on Vehicle Theft & More

Rover, MO. – A man from Howell County has been arrested after the Howell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a tip on the location of a stolen vehicle.

This event took place on July 17th, and included Corporal Jack, and Deputies Lisboa and Malone from the Howell County Sheriff’s Department. They responded to the information of a stolen vehicle by travelling to County Road 8160 and found the vehicle being driven on the roadway.

Corporal Jackson attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle when the driver attempted to flee law enforcement, which prompted a pursuit. Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop and the driver attempted to flee on-foot before beign arrested.

Ryan Kniess of West Plains was the driver, and was additionally found with a controlled substance. He is facing charges that include Felony Stealing a Motor Vehicle, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, and Felony Interfering with an Arrest for a Felony. He is being held in the Howell County Jail on $25,000 bond.
