Harlin Museum to Host Lecture on West Plains Dance Hall Explosion

West Plains, MO. – The Harlin Museum, a fixture of Ozarks lore and history since 1972, is going to host a lecture from an author on the topic of the West Plains dance hall explosion in August.

The local author presenting the lecture is Lin Waterhouse, who wrote a book all on the topic of the mysterious explosion, simply titled: “West Plains Dance Hall Explosion”. This lecture will include a presentation and discussion of the disaster that occurred on Friday, April 13th of 1928.

Topics of discussion will include those in attendance at the dance of the Bond Hall, and events before, during, and after the explosion. It will also include the effects of the event going forward.
