Licking, MO. – The city of Licking was, like many towns within the area, scheduled to have a fireworks show earlier this year to help celebrate July 4th. However, conditions canceled those plans. Local organizers used this chance to make a different event happen tomorrow night: a Back-to-School Bash with a fireworks display.
Organizer Debbie Cook on the upcoming event:
We spoke to Debbie Cook, an organizer for this event, about what to expect. She stated vendors will be available serving many types of food and snacks; some will be selling clothing, others glowsticks and face-painting, and others will be putting on contests. She also stated there will also be various fund-raising events happening at the same time.
The nearby pool is reported to be open until 8:30pm as well, and the fireworks display will happen after darkness sets in for the night.
Festivities are expected to begin around 5pm tomorrow, Saturday, August 19th.
