M. Elaine Cain of Mtn. Grove, MO, daughter of Asa T. and Ruby F. (Tucker) Hunter was born May 12, 1939 in Dallas County MO and departed this world to be with her Lord & Savior on August 15, 2023 at the age of 84.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Gray and Elva Crouthamel and her husband, Harold Cain. She is survived by her three daughters from her first marriage, Mary Hoffman of Min. Grove, MO, Anita Smith of Mtn Grove, MO and Traci Littlewood of Hartville, MO; her aunt, Dottie Smith of Rogersville, MO; seven grandkids; fourteen great grandkids as well as many friends and other family members.
Elaine was a retired business owner of Elaine’s Tax Service. She helped people for over fifty years with their tax needs. She had friends, not just clients. Elaine was a generous and kind Christian woman who loved spending time with her family and friends. Her passions included fishing, sewing, mushroom hunting and traveling.
One of her longtime dreams of fishing in Alaska and seeing the whales was fulfilled in July 2023. Her grandson, Asa Smith, took her and his mom, Anita Smith and his son, Mason Smith as a gift to her. She out-fished all of them in one day.
