Lonnie P. Cagle

Lonnie Paul Cagle, 78 of Thayer, MO, was born July 14th, 1945, to Lonnie & Lavenia Stinnett, and passed away on Aug. 19th, 2023, at Shady Oaks Healthcare Center in Thayer, MO.

He was raised by his mother, Lavenia Cagle, and stepfather, Tommy Cagle. He went to school at Freeport, TX. He graduated from Brazosport High School in 1965. He retired from Marathon in West Plains, MO. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army. He was the Pastor at Greentown Lighthouse Church. Lonnie’s talents were many, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, Pastor & friend. He loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved tending to his flowers and enjoyed decorating his yard for Christmas. He loved his Country and hung his flag proudly. He was a devoted Christian with an unwavering faith. His best years were spent preaching the Gospel and serving the people he pastored. He loved to travel and collected eagles and neck ties.

He is preceded in death by: a wife, Debbie Cagle; his parents, Lonnie Stinnett & Lavenia Cagle; his stepdad, Tommy Cagle; one sister, Wanda Stinnett; one brother, David Stinnett; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by: his wife, Yvonne Cagle; five children, Rhonda Stinnett, Lonnie Paul (Theresa) Cagle, Tommy (Chris) Cagle, Jimmy (Teresa) Cagle & Jana (Doug) Watkins; two stepchildren, Geri (Kevin) Benfield & Stan (Sarah) Grooms; eleven grandchildren & eight great- grandchildren; six step-grandchildren & four step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023, at Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with burial following in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1pm-2pm prior to the funeral service.
