Ellsinore, MO. – A Labor Day fatality has been confirmed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol at a location between Van Buren and Ellsinore.
This September 4th crash occurred at the connection of Missouri Route 21 and US Highway 60. Involved was one vehicle, a Harley Davidson motorcycle. According to the report, Chris Terrell, 65 of Clarkton, MO., was operating the vehicle Southbound when it travelled off the right side of the road and overturned at around 3:20pm.
Terrell was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3:58pm by Carter County Coroner, Joe Chapman. An occupant of the motorcycle, Regina Hawkins, 60 of Clarkton, MO., suffered serious injuries and was taken via ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional for treatment.
Investigation on this crash was performed by Trooper N.G. Britt of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G. In assistance were Master Sergeant D.B. Foster and Sergeant L.B. Monahan. This accident marks Troop G’s 22nd fatality for 2023, as opposed to 17 this time last year.
