Harold Gene Bennett, son of the late Norman and Virginia (Harmon) Bennett was born November 15, 1933 at Sikeston, Missouri. He entered eternal rest September 1, 2023, at the age of eighty-nine years old.
Harold’s family moved from Illinois to Cabool, Missouri where he met and fell in love with Faye Marie Smith. His family moved again while Harold was still a teenager. Harold chose to stay in Cabool, where he rented an apartment, worked nights at Mid-American Dairymen, and finished high school.
Harold and Faye were married October 4, 1952 and were blessed with two sons Ronald Eugene Bennett and Harry David Bennett. Harold spent his working career at Mid-American Dairymen / DFA, retiring from the position of Plant Engineer. Harold and Faye attended the First Christian Church of Cabool where he was baptized. Harold was a hardworking, strong family man always ready to roll up his sleeves to help his friends, family and community with any task great or small. Harold was a loyal Cabool Bulldog fan, attending home games until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Virginia; his wife, Faye; brothers Bob, Lawrence and Lewie Bennett and one sister, Mary Coatney. He is survived by two sons, Ronnie Bennett and David Bennett and his wife, Vicky; four grandchildren, Ember Hogan, Lindsey Taylor, Tara Anderson and Carly Bennett; three great-grandchildren, Truman Taylor, Bennett Taylor and Conrad Anderson; two sisters, Connie Hamilton and Bonnie Bennett; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
