Nancy Jean (James) Eldridge, a longtime resident of Mountain View, Missouri, passed away after a long illness in the early hours of Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on May 3, 1949, to Stanley and Norma James.
Nancy graduated from Whitmer High School in Toledo in 1967 and attended nursing school. She worked around Toledo as an LPN before relocating to Naples, Florida. Nancy then moved to Seeley Lake, Montana, in the early 1980s. She assisted in opening what would become a well-known restaurant in the area, due largely in part to her famous pies and baked goods. She was married and had children in Seeley Lake and eventually settled in the Mountain View, Missouri, area in 1994. Nancy enjoyed living on a farm and selling her baked goods at the Farmer’s Market. She later worked at Walmart in Mountain View and West Plains until her health would no longer allow it.
Survivors include her daughters, Christina Eldridge of St. Louis, MO, and Katie Eldridge of Mountain View, MO; son, Matthew Winchester of West Plains, MO; grandson, Michael Eldridge of St. Louis; and granddaughter, Avilene Jean Clary of Mountain View, MO, the light of her life.
Nancy’s cheerful personality will be missed by all who knew her.
