Jones ending contract holdout with Chiefs

Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones is ending his contract holdout. Jones agreed to new terms on a one-year deal with Kansas City that will make him a free agent after the season. The four-time Pro Bowler received incentives in the new contract that will set him up to make more than the originally scheduled 19.5-million dollars he was set to earn this season. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said in a statement that it was a priority “to keep him in a Chiefs uniform.” Jones is coming off a season in which he tied his career-high with 15-and-a-half sacks.
