Missouri State football sophomore running back and former West Plains star Connor Lair has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, the News-Leader learned on Tuesday morning.
Lair, who was voted as the News-Leader’s high school football player of the year in 2021, was diagnosed on the Friday before the Bears’ 38-31 loss at UT Martin.
Lair played 10 games for the Bears as a true freshman where he was an impact player on special teams. He was moved from linebacker to running back for this season where he was expected to have a role in the Bears’ backfield.
