At Tuesday night’s West Plains School District Board of Education meeting, a check for $10,000 was presented to the Connor Lair Family. Class of 2022 Zizzer alumnus and Missouri State football running back Connor Lair has recently been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
The District raised the funds from gate proceeds at the Zizzer Homecoming game, passed a helmet gaining collections during the game, purple sticker sales, and additional donations.
The district said in a post on Facebook, “The outpouring of support from students and alumni has been nothing short of extraordinary.”
A T-Shirt campaign for Lair was started to help with costs with a goal of $500. As of Wednesday morning, the campaign has raised over $5,100. You can learn more about the T-Shirt campaign at inktothepeople.com/connors-cure
