(Milwaukee, WI) — The Cardinals received a positive injury update on Willson Contreras. Manager Oli Marmol told reporters yesterday that the Cardinals slugger won’t need surgery on an injured left wrist that ended his season over the weekend. The team originally expected Contreras to need a procedure during the offseason before the catcher got a second opinion from a hand specialist in Arizona earlier this week. Contreras hit .264 with 20 home runs and 67 RBI during his first season with St. Louis.
