Two injured in DWI-related crash on Sunday

West Plains, MO. – Two people were injured in a DWI-related crash on October 1st in Wright County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred at 4:55 p.m. on Business 60 near Vaughn Street in Mountain Grove.

An eastbound Nissan Altima driven by Michael Deshazo, age 49 of West Plains, struck a Dodge Charger driven by Seth Ulrich, age 33 of Mansfield, from behind, extensively damaging both vehicles.

Ulrich had been wearing a seat belt and suffered only minor injuries. Deshazo had not been wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. Both men were taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to the MSHP arrest report, Deshazo was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated, 4th-degree assault on a special victim, careless and imprudent driving involving a motor vehicle crash, and no seat belt.
