Salem, AR. Woman Charged with Domestic Battery for Child Abuse

Salem, AR. – A Salem, AR. woman has been arrested after a child abuse incident that occurred near the start of the month.

According to the probable cause statement on the case, law enforcement was contacted on October 4th by the Department of Human Services to meet with a child who had been abused within Salem.

Detectives spoke with the 8-year-old victim, who alleged that their dad’s girlfriend, identified as London Bynum, 32, had kicked her in the stomach, head and leg. This left them with bruising and scabbing across those places.

Witness to this event was the victim’s 13-year-old brother, who stated Bynum did this due to being upset. Further interviews from the children stated Bynum would repeatedly strike the female children in the house, but did not touch the males.

Bynum has been charged with 2nd Degree Domestic Battery, a Class C Felony. Bond was placed at $20,000.
