Applications Open for West Plains Community Development Grant

West Plains, MO. – The City of West Plains is currently going through a process of selecting applicants for a grant that has the intended purpose of increasing economic development and tourism in the city. The grant was made possible via funds from the City of West Plains Hotel/Motel Tax.

The deadline for applying for the City of West Plains Community Development Grant Program is November 1. Any event, organization, or project with the objective of promoting tourism and economic development in West Plains is eligible to apply. The event or project must be completed between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024. The Tourism Advisory Council will review applications and make recommendations to City Council for grant awards.

Grant proposals will be received until 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023. It is anticipated that the Tourism Advisory Council will vote to make their recommendations to City Council at their November meeting. Funding should be available on January 1, 2024. All grant expenditures must occur before the end of the fiscal year (December 31, 2024).

Click on the link at the bottom of the homepage. Completed applications can be emailed to melissa.wharton@westplains.gov or dropped off or mailed to the Ozark Heritage Welcome Center located at 2999 Porter Wagoner Blvd., West Plains.
