Wanda Lene (Taylor) Martin

Wanda Lene (Taylor) Martin, the daughter of the late Meride and Vera (Driskell) Taylor was born March 2, 1934 in Drury, MO. Wanda went home to be with her Lord after a brief illness at her residence on October 24, 2023.

Wanda was an only child and loved working with her dad on the family farm. She attended Dora High School. Wanda was united in marriage on November 21, 1948 at Hardy, AR to Silas Ray Martin, they had one son, Richard Ray Martin. She loved working with her family on their farm first at Blanche, MO and then moving to Ray’s family farm in Dora where they worked about 31 years milking cows, then raising beef cattle. She was a Christian and loved attending church. She attended many years at the Church of Christ at Ball and later years at Sweeton Pond in Dora, MO. She loved her family very much. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an overwhelming fondness and love for dogs and cats.

She is survived by one son Richard Martin and wife Angie of Dora, MO; two grandsons, Greg Martin and wife Pepper, Cass Martin and wife Andrea all of Dora, MO; eight grandchildren Tyler Martin and wife Kate of West Plains, MO, Dalton Martin and wife Kelsie of Dora, MO, Gavin Martin and wife Alyssa of West Plains, MO, Isabelle, Jacob, Rhett and Branch Martin all of Dora, MO, one granddaughter Callie and husband Stephen Stewart of Nixa, MO; five great grandchildren Mason and Blake Martin of West Plains, MO, Addi and Knox Martin of Dora, MO, and Cruz Stewart of Nixa, MO; many nephews, nieces and cousins; and her only living aunt Wilma Cowan age 97 years of Clever, MO. She also had two very special friends, Euva Dodson of Dora, MO and Kathy Young of West Plains, MO. Wanda will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Martin and one grandson Ryan Mackenzie Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Sweeton Pond Church in Dora, MO. Officiating will be David Shipley. Burial will be in the Sweeton Pond Cemetery officiated by Steve Cantrell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sweeton Pond Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
