Mountain Grove, MO. – With the coming holiday season, various charitable programs will start making themselves known once again. In Mountain Grove, the Police Department is seeking applicants for one such program.
This is the Shop With a Hero program, which will see underprivileged children shopping for Christmas and escorted by local emergency responders. Donations are collected year-round by the agency for this event, which is then put towards gift cards that are used by the children at Wal-Mart. Children who participate may shop for themselves and their direct family.
Participating agencies in the event include the Fire and Police Departments of Mountain Grove, Mansfield, Hartville, the Norwood Fire Department, Northern Wright County Fire Department, Grovespring Fire Department, the Wright County Sheriff’s Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and EMS from Mercy and Texas County.
