Gainesville, MO. – A Theodosia man is being held without bond after being accused of firing a slingshot at an amputee.
On Saturday, November 18, 2023, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the Theodosia area for a man shooting a rock at a man in his home. According to the probable cause statement, the victim, a man confined to a wheelchair with both legs amputated, told authorities that his neighbor, Timothy J. Frye, had shot the projectile at him from a slingshot as the victim sat in his laundry room, smoking at an open window.
The victim showed officers a video of Frye leaving the scene.
A second victim had reported that Fry had threatened to kill her on the evening of Sept. 27, 2023.
Deputies contacted Frye, and reported that Frye told them he had fired the slingshot at a cat and missed when the projectile ricocheted and struck the victim’s house.
Timothy Frye has been charged with felony 1st-degree Harassment and misdemeanor 4th-degree assault – special victims. He is currently being held in the Ozark County Jail without bond. He has a bond reduction hearing on Monday, Nov. 28th at the Ozark County Courthouse.
