Alton, MO. – A Minneapolis man with local ties has been arrested on a warrant for multiple charges of sodomy and child molestation going back to 2015.
The Thayer Police Department arrested Shaun A. Scallion, age 50, on Saturday, Dec. 2nd on a 2021 warrant charging Scallion with 21 counts of 1st-degree sodomy or attempt-victim less than 12-years-old, and 13 counts of 2nd-degree child molestation-child less than 12-years-old. He is being held in the Oregon County Jail without bond.
Online court documents show the earliest charges go back to February 2015 with the most recent charge dating from October 2019. These records show Scallion had received multiple probation violation warrants for a drug possession charge he pled guilty to in 2004 when he lived in the Doniphan area.
Scallion has applied for a public defender and has pled not guilty to the crimes. He is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
