Marshfield, MO. – A student from Marshfield recently discovered a block of wrapped cocaine while on a school trip in the Florida Keys.
The students were on the beach of Big Pine Key as a part of the trip, cleaning up trash when the block was found. The student who found it was Wyatt Davis, who said he didn’t know what to make of it at first. It was found in a patch of grass said to be roughly a foot tall among other trash.
The students gave the block to the charter boat they used, before it was turned over to the local Sheriff’s Department, and then U.S. Border Patrol.
The U.S. Border Patrol later released a statement regarding the find.
“On January 29, 2024, U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Miami Sector recovered and seized one brick (2.5 pounds) of cocaine. The cocaine was discovered by Good Samaritans in Big Pine Key, Florida.
