The West Plains Lady Zizzers played the Marshfield Lady Jays on the afternoon of February 15, 2024.
West Plains Lady Zizzers starts off the first quarter on the offensive. The two teams spend the majority of the first quarter fighting each other to be the first team to score for the night. Finally, the Lady Zizzers get the first score, only for the Lady Jays to get their first basket of the game bringing the scores to a tie of 2 to 2. They continue to fight each other for the ball as they slowly score their way through the first quarter of the game. The end of the first quarter ends at 9 to 5, with player, Olivia Lawson, scoring 6 out of 7 of those points.
West Plains is the first to score in the second quarter, making a 3 pointer. The game starts to pick up after the slow first quarter as the Lady teams really start to find their game for the night. The Lady Jays really pick up their pace as they close the distance between them and West Plains, bringing the score to 15 to 13. Not to long after that the lady Zizzers pull ahead leaving the the Lady Jays in the dust, which the Lady Jays do not let bother them as they once again close the lead between them and the Lady Zizzers. There was definitely not a lot of scoring in the first half of the game leaving the Lady Zizzers only winning at the score of 24 to 21.
The Lady jays get the first score of the third quarter, bringing the game back to a tie of 24 to 24. All of the second half action starts of in the Lady Jays court. They score 8 points right off the bat compared to West Plains 0 points. The Lady Zizzers pick their game back up bringing the score once again to a tie of 29 to 29. Marshfield did pass West Plains for a minute in the third quarter until the Lady Zizzers pick their lead up to 6 points and growing. West Plains continues to look sharper as the quarter goes on ending with the score of 38 to 33.
The Lady Jays start of the last quarter strong bringing the game up to a one point game. The Lady Zizzers are holding onto the winning score of the night by the fingernails. Marshfield then takes that lead from them, pulling ahead of the lady Zizzers by 5 points. The Lady Jays have outscored the Lady Zizzers by 17 to 4 in the last half of the game. The Lady Jays return the favor from earlier, switching the tables, and leaving the Lady Zizzers in the dust. West Plains gets down by 7 towards the end of the last half. The West Plains Zizzers lose to the Marshfield lady jays 50 to 42.
