Virginia M Linder

Virginia Linder, 89 years, 4 months, 19 days old, passed peacefully on February 14, 2024 at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Her family was by her side.

Virginia was born September 26, 1934 in Wright County, Missouri to Oscar Dillard and Ruth Elizabeth (Davis) Moore.

On November 28,1954, Virginia and Darrel Linder were united in marriage in Ava, Missouri. Together they were blessed with two children, Juanita and Fayne.

Virginia was well known in the Ava community while working at the Ava Drug as head cashier for 56 years! She loved working there and visiting with all the patrons. Her love for people, her dedication, and care for the patrons there was evident.

Virginia was a Christian and a longtime member of Highway Church of the Nazarene. Later on she attended Cold Creek Cowboy Church with her family. Virginia was also a former member of the Ava VFW Women’s Auxiliary. In addition, she was a visiting member of Hospice reaching out to those in need. In the past, she volunteered at Ava Place announcing Bingo.

She enjoyed quilting, canning, reading, and gardening. She was a wonderful baker, except for biscuits. She adored her family and the feeling was mutual. Virginia’s joy and love will live on through her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrel,  her brothers, Clifford, Lloyd, Bob, Roy, Delbert, and Harold Moore; her sister, Ruby Buchanan; and her grandson, Brandon Darlington.

Virginia is survived by her children, Juanita (Clyde) Darlington and Fayne Linder; grandchildren, Crystal, Clarissa, Levi, and Elizabeth; four great grandchildren, Devon, Ethan, Caleigh, and Aiden; many nieces; nephews; all the Moore and Linder family and many friends.

Funeral services for Virginia will be Monday, February 19, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri with burial following in the Brushyknob Cemetery.  A visitation will be Sunday, February 18th from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home.  Pastor Dustin Ledford and Pastor John Williams will be officiating.

Family requests memorials be made to Brushyknob Cemetery.
