The city of Mammoth Spring and the Mammoth Spring Fire Department have recently announced that they will be getting rid of one large piece of equipment used by in Fire & Rescue, and bids are being accepted.
The vehicle is a 1994 Freightliner ambulance unit that has been converted to a fire & rescue support vehicle. According to the Fire Chief of Mammoth Spring, Billy Edwards, this decision came about as the department felt they did too much off-road work to properly necessitate the use of this vehicle, which isn’t equipped for rough drives.
