Howell County Sheriff’s Department Arrests Man on Receiving Stolen Property/Drug Charges

West Plains, MO. – The Howell County Sheriff’s Department recently made an announcement on an arrest that involved a man stealing a vehicle and being found with methamphetamine.

According to the probable cause statement, Kristian Watson, 46 of West Plains drove away a vehicle from Gentleman Jim’s in Mountain View and was caught on camera doing so. On March 23rd, a deputy with the Howell County Sheriff’s Department located the suspect and attempted a traffic stop. Watson stopped after continuing to travel for a mile and was asked about the vehicle. Watson had apparently already attempted to sell the vehicle to a third party for $250, and clear plastic bags that tested positive for meth were found.

Watson was taken into custody and is facing a pair of Felony charges: Receiving Stolen Property, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
