Cardinals 6, Padres 2

The Cardinals rattled off 14 hits during a 6-2 win over the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. Brendan Donovan was three-for-four with a home run and two RBI during the win, while Willson Contreras also went deep. Kyle Gibson earned his first win as a Cardinal by giving up just two runs on four hits in seven innings. The Cards have won two of three to improve to 2-and-3. Miles Mikolas starts for the Cardinals against San Diego tonight.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Cardinals are getting good news about one of their injured bullpen arms. Reliever Riley O’Brien had an MRI yesterday that showed no structural damage in his right forearm. O’Brien was placed on the 15-day injured list after straining his arm during his inning of relief on Opening Day. O’Brien is 0-and-1 with an 8.10 ERA in three MLB appearances since 2021.
