Gainesville, MO. – The Ozark County Sheriff’s Office announced yesterday evening that one man has gone missing after their vehicle had been swept off a local bridge.
This started in the early morning hours of April 30th when a caller stated that their boyfriend’s vehicle had been swept off of Warren Bridge on County Road 328 due to swift water.
Many different agencies responded to the search, and the vehicle was finally found 100 feet downstream. Due to dangerous conditions, emergency responders were unable to reach and extract the vehicle until 1pm. The driver was not found inside.
The identity of the driver has not been officially released.
With this, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office has urged the public to adhere to caution when roadways are submerged.
The organizations that helped respond to this event include the Dora VFD, Caney Mountain VFD, Tecumseh VFD, Ozark County Ambulance, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office.
