Baxter County, AR. – On May 6, 2024, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Foundation received a donation from the North Arkansas Electric Coop – NEXT. NEXT provided donations to several area law enforcement agencies and law enforcement support organizations to acquire law enforcement tactical equipment.
According to a press release, the Baxter County Sheriff Foundation, a domestic non-profit organization committed to supporting the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, received $2,000. They plan to use these funds to purchase body armor and vests for the Sheriff’s Deputies.
Usually, good quality body armor for a deputy can cost anywhere from $300 to $1,000 The price of the vest depends on the protection level. Generally, the less protection the vest provides, the less the vest costs. Vests made out of Kevlar can cost upwards of $1,500.
