West Plains, MO. – Missouri State University- West Plains just announced that they have opened the sign-up for their annual Summer Scholars Academy.
The Summer Scholars Academy is open to students entering fifth grade through those who have just completed eighth grade. Those participating will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 24 through 27 and from 9 a.m. to noon on June 28. This is a program that gives kids a hands-on experience in courses of science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Students can participate in classes that feature robotics, nursing, video, game design, mathematics, engineering, biology, arts, and more. Missouri State University- West Plains’s faculty and staff members will teach the classes. On the final day of classes, workers from Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield will be discussing animal conservation and zoology topics. They will bringing a selection of endangered animals for students to see.
The cost to attend the Summer Scholars Academy is $75 for the first student and $50 for each additional student within the family.
