Thayer Man Seriously Injured And Arrested After Overturn Crash

Thayer, MO. – A Thayer resident was seriously injured and arrested following a crash where his vehicle overturned.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the accident took place on May 30, 2024, at 11:00 on County Road 358, a half mile south of Thayer, Missouri. 38-year-old Shaun Hughes was operating a Bush Hog UTV, going southbound, when the vehicle traveled off the right half of the roadway and overturned. Hughes was seriously injured in the accident and was transported via Life Flight Helicopter to Cox South for treatment. It is unknown whether he was wearing his safety device at the time of the crash.

Following the crash, Hughes was charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to maintain the right half of the roadway.
