Fatal Accident Closes Down Highway 63, South of PP Highway

West Plains, MO. – A crash occurred Wednesday, June 5, at 4:37 p.m. on Highway 63, South of PP Highway.

Not much is known at this time. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G, the crash is a fatal crash involving one semi-truck and a dump truck. They ask that people please avoid the area. Traffic has been backed up for over an hour. The MSHP expects a lengthy clean-up due to the content of the trailers across the road. They have also set up an alternate route for individuals to go around the crash. The MSHP has stated that the scene will be closed till at least midnight.

Update: According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash occurred as 55-year-old Roy Martin crossed over into the path of the Peterbilt, striking it head-on. 35-year-old Justin McClain driving the semi-truck was seriously injured and taken, via Air Evac, to Cox Health South in Springfield, Missouri. Martin was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash.
