Gasconade River, MO. – A man has been reported to have drowned last week at the Gasconade River, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The victim in this case was Preston Jarrett, a 33-year-old man from Mountain Grove. Jarrett is reported to have been on the river in Wright County, a quarter-mile west of Highway E on June 13th. At 11:30am, Jarrett was attempting to retrieve an item from the center of the river, went under, and never came back up.
The MSHP Dive Team later located the body of Jarrett on the next day, where he was officially pronounced deceased at 11:26am, almost a full 24-hours from the first incident.
The reporting officer of the event from the Missouri State Highway Patrol was Corporal J.R. Roberts. Agencies in assistance were the Department of Conservation and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
