Carol passed to heaven June 29, 2024. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the proud parents of Wilbur T. Johnson and Helen R. Krause Johnson.
Her senior year she moved to Bull Shoals, Arkansas. After graduating from Mtn. Home, Arkansas High School she returned to Palos Heights, Illinois. In 1964 she married George L. Grede. They soon built a home and started a family. In 1972 they purchased Mar-Mar Motel in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. After selling the business she worked at Harps in Bull Shoals, Arkansas, until George retired. She loved traveling to many different places with her husband. They moved to West Plains in 2016 to spend more time with their only grandchild, Alana Rose Hood.
Carol will always be remembered for many things including crocheting hundreds of items for veterans.
She is survived by her husband George L. Grede of West Plains, Mo, daughter Debbie Due of West Plains, Mo, son George J. Grede and wife Patsy Grede of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, and one granddaughter Alana R. Hood of West Plains, Mo.
