The National Weather Service in Springfield has put into effect a Flood Watch until 3pm today due to heavy surprise rainfall values centered in a diagonal oval shape stretching from roughly Lebanon to West Plains.
The torrential rainfall that took place this morning is estimated to have brought 2 to 4 inches of rainfall to the local area, with some areas receiving as much as 6 inches.
The heaviest levels of rainfall are expected to continue up to around 10am, and then decrease throughout the day.
In addition to the flooding present, a heat advisory has also been put into effect for the area, with temperatures increasing further west. Heat Index Values for most of the area today will range from 90 to 102 degrees.
Lastly, there has also been a call for potentially severe weather tomorrow, with there being a chance of large hail and damaging wind gusts along with the thunderstorm.
