The Royals continued their stranglehold on the AL Wild Card race following a series win over the Angels. Michael Lorenzen threw seven shutout innings in a 3-0 victory from Kauffman Stadium. MJ Melendez slugged a solo shot and Kyle Isbel drove in a pair of runs. The Royals have won six of their last seven and sit third in the AL Central at 71-and-56. They remain home to host the Philadelphia Phillies tomorrow night. Right-hander Michael Wacha is scheduled to start opposite Philadelphia righty Taijuan Walker.
