West Plains, Mo. – The Annual Dog Swim at the West Plains Aquatic Center was held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Many pups showed up to enjoy the last day of water before the pool was closed for the season. It was $3 per dog to get into the pool and owners got in for free. This Dog Swim happens every year for the dogs to also enjoy the slow ending of summer. Ozark Radio News visited for a photo opportunity and saw many owners and their pups enjoying the water. There were tennis balls everywhere and a huge turnout of dogs.
The rules for the swim stay the same every year: all dogs must have proof of vaccinations, no unruly or aggressive dogs allowed, only dogs are allowed in the pool with owners allowed to wade up to their ankles, an adult must be there to supervise their dogs at all times, owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs, and in addition to these rules all other Tuk’s Playground Dog Park regulations will be in effect.
