Mount Pleasant, AR. – On September 30th, an Izard County, Arkansas Deputy was seriously injured after an exchange involving a pursuit.
According to the Izard County Sheriff’s Office, this began when law enforcement responded to the call of a black Chevy truck being used to intentionally throw gravel on parked cars, and hitting pedestrians with their fender. After finding the vehicle, a chase began and culminated in a standoff between Chief Deputy Steve Davidson and the suspect, 27-year-old Zachoria Henry.
Henry accelerated his vehicle towards the deputy, and collided with his patrol vehicle, but not before the deputy struck Henry’s vehicle with a shot from a shotgun.
Henry then tried to flee on foot and was apprehended, but the deputy sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries to his left leg and foot.
The Arkansas State Police are now in charge of the investigation.
