MO. & AR. Red Cross Seeking Volunteers for Shelters in Hurricane Helene Recovery

This past week, news headlines have been inundated with the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. Local organizations, such as the Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative have been sending workers to assist in the recovery of regions affected.

The American Red Cross Missouri and Arkansas Branches have recently reached out to the public for volunteers willing to support shelters and further disaster relief efforts.

Those interested and able to volunteer are being asked to sign up today by going to redcross.org/volunteer.

All candidates will go through and must pass required training, and must be able to commit to a two-week deployment period.

“When disasters upend lives, Red Cross volunteers are on the frontlines providing refuge and comfort to people in their darkest hours,” Barry Falke, Missouri and Arkansas Region CEO said. “They truly are the heart and soul of the Red Cross — comprising 90% of our workforce — to help ensure families never face a crisis alone.”
