Dora Elementary’s 4th Graders Rally for Ozarks Pet Rescue Through Huge Donation

Dora, MO. – Dora Elementary’s 4th-grade class shows that you’re never too young to make a difference. This group of students launched a heartwarming initiative to collect donations for Ozarks Pet Rescue, demonstrating their dedication to community service and love for animals.

The idea for the donation drive began when students noticed the recent struggles of local shelters being overcrowded and lacking enough supplies. After learning about the number of homeless animals in the Ozarks region, the students, along with their teacher, decided to lend a helping hand through a community service project. Ozarks Pet Rescue, a local non-profit organization that works tirelessly to care for and find homes for abandoned animals, became the recipient of their donations.

The donation campaign started at the beginning of the school year and concluded on October 4, 2024. The class donated close to seventeen bags of dog and cat food, fourteen cans of wet dog and cat food, along with multiple bags of treats and toys to support the animals waiting for homes.

Ozarks Pet Rescue, located in southern Missouri, provides a safe haven for homeless pets and works to place them in loving, permanent homes. The shelter is largely supported by volunteers and donations, making efforts like this one from Dora Elementary critical to their continued operation.
