West Plains, MO. – Those living around ZZ Highway near West Plains on Sunday may have noticed the sounds of emergency response workers. This is due to an overturn crash that took place at 6:25pm.
According to the investigating Trooper at the scene, this crash took place when a 69-year-old West Plains man, Jackie Watkins, ran off the roadway in a Ford Focus. The vehicle overturned and was totaled.

Watkins was moderately injured and was taken to Ozarks Healthcare. Further investigation revealed Watkins to have been under the influence at the time of the crash, leading to related criminal charges.
