Zizzers Beat Boliver In District Championship In A Close Game, 24-21

The West Plains Zizzers took on the Boliver Liberators tonight, November 15, 2024, in the district championship game.

After losing 20 to 3 in the last game against the Liberators, the Zizzers try to get the upper hand right off the bat and score the touchdown of the game, already more than the last game. They find the lead four minutes into the game. They keep the lead after making a field goal, bringing a score of 10 to 0 and ending the first quarter.

The second quarter picks up where they left off in the first quarter, with the Zizzers in the lead. Boliver finally keeps the ball after two turnovers during the second quarter, trying to make their first touchdown. West Plains wrestles the ball back and scores yet another touchdown, putting Boliver in a hole, 17 to nothing. The quarter ends with no other touchdowns made in the first half.

Zizzers start off the second half on defense, giving Boliver a chance to get the ball where they need it. 8 minutes into the second half, and neither team scores a touchdown. The quarter is full of takes and downs, with no actual points scored. With only 23 seconds left of the third quarter, the Liberators score one touchdown, their first of the game. The fourth quarter starts with a touchdown by the West Plains Zizzers, bringing them back up with a score of 24 to 7. The Zizzers and the Liberators fight for the next score. Boliver comes in strong, making multiple touchdowns in a row, bringing the game to a 24 to 21 point game with 4 minutes left of the game. The quarter ends with Zizzers in the lead with 24 to 21.
