Cory, as everyone knew her, loved being outdoors and loved all animals, but her main passion was for family and her horses. She moved to Wyoming in 1995, and put herself through medical school to become a nurse practitioner, to which she excelled. She met herself a cowboy soon after, while working in a hospital in Wyoming, and he won her heart by giving her the very first horse she ever had, Ibe. She loved him dearly. She told that story countless times, proud, how she fell in love with a cowboy and he gave her a horse. From that moment on, she lived her dream of horses, ranch life and family. In 2011 they moved back to Missouri to be closer to her family here. Cory got to spend countless hours camping and riding horses at the trail rides with her friends and husband Tater, something she loved to do. Cory also loved being on the river, caring for people, rescuing animals and teaching others the love of horseback riding – especially young kids. One especially close to her heart was Brooklynne, whom she loved dearly.Cory would always be there to help anyone who needed it if it was within her capabilities to do so, and she always had a smile that would brighten any room.

Cory is survived by her husband Everrett of Winona; her son Tyler of Winona; her dad Jim Barnes and wife Elsie of Winona; her mother in law Lucille Hill; her brother Jeb Barnes of KC; her brother Clinton Barnes of Winona; sisters in love Brenda Coplen Larson of Wyoming; Jonie Barnes of Arkansas; nieces Olivia, Kendra, Andie, Erika and Tori; nephews Dusty and Kathan, all who called her aunt “Corkey”. She loved them and they loved her. She is also survived by her beloved grandma, Betty June Roberts of Winona. Cory had many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Cory in death were her mom Becky; her father in law Jim Hill; her grandpa’s Gene Roberts and Emeral Barnes ;grandma Shirley Barnes; and aunt Betty Needels and uncle Bill Roberts.
