The West Plains Zizzer Boys Basketball team faced the Mountain Home Bombers on Tuesday night, December 10th 2024. Zizzers fell to 1-4 & The Bombers rose to 6-4 as the Bombers won the game by a score of 75-61.
1st Half: Tip won by the Zizzers as the Bombers play man to man defense and a series of passes between Ethan Tuma and Jared Kraft. A turnover by the bombers allows the Bombers to score. Floater is up and good by Tyler Podowski rebound bucket up and good by Blaine Tate, both plays for the Bombers. Kraft steals a pass, gets it down to Robbins who puts the ball up and in for three as the Zizzers take back a lead. Another series of passes gets the ball to Clayton Robbins who shoots another layup and fouls Podowski for the Bombers. The Zizzers now have a 9-5 lead. Jackson Corp for the Bombers scores a three and briefly brings the Bombers to trail by one, but a far side three ball by Jacob Moore is good. Rebound by Ryder Mclain for the Bombers who also scores a three. Rebound again by Mclain who puts it back, up and in for the Zizzers. This follows another rebound, another thirteen footer for Jacob Moore. Quarter ends as Zizzers have a one point lead, 15-14.
2nd Half: Another foul for the Bombers sends Clayton Robbins to the line to shoot 2-2. Ryder Mclain with another three pointer for the Bombers on rebound. A foul call on Robbins, first fowl of the 2nd Quarter for the Zizzers. Jacob Moore tries for another long, high foot shot but doesn’t make it in. On the far side, ball gets to Tuma who makes his first bucket of the game for the Zizzers. Bombers have a 20-17 lead. Foul is called on the Bombers as Ryder Mclain tries to chase down the loose ball. Jacob Moore is fouled, sending Jackson Corp back to the line for the Bombers, he makes three at the line. A blown dead layup on rebound by Clayton Robbins as Zizzers are trying to stop the streak of easy shots made by the Bombers. Zizzers are trying skip -passes and eventually they foul Jackson Corp. Robbins goes back to the line to shoot three for the Zizzers, he makes all of his attempts and both teams are tied with 22 points. Rebound Josiah Long puts up a wide open shot which is good and Zizzers take back the lead. A three by Ryder Mclain puts the Bombers back on top by two, but rebound and a trip to the line for Jacob Moore. Moore unfortunately goes 0-2. Rebound by Clayton Robbins who scores on and ties the game back at 26. A layup by Moore gives the Zizzers two more points, but another three by Rhett Gilbert for the Bombers sets the Halftime score- Mountain Home Bombers: 31/West Plains Zizzers: 28

3rd Quarter: Jacob Moore is able to shoot a a layup and put the Zizzers back out on top by one. But fouled and Rhett Gilbert shoots two out of the line making one. Zizzers are able to cause a few turnovers as Tuma and Robbins bring the Zizzers out to a holding two point lead. However, rebound by Tyler Podowski and up and good for three. Rebound Zizzers who manage to get the ball back down to Kraft who gets the ball up and good for three and are able to take back a trail by one point. After a time out on the floor, Podowski makes the Tenth three pointer of the night for the Bombers. Foul on rebound for Ryder Mclain sends Robbins back to the line for the Zizzers and ties the game up. On rebound, Jared Kraft puts up a one hander. Tries to get his own rebound but the Bombers take it back and Rhett Gilbert scores on an easy layup. Ball gets to Corp who scores on the dribble drive. Rebound and three pointer by Jared Kraft. Bombers now managing to lead by ten as the Zizzers keep coming close but losing the ball nonetheless. At end of Quarter, Score is 54-44 as the Bombers continue to lead.
4th Quarter: Bombers looking to shoot another three but it is blocked and rebounded by Ethan Tuma. Ball gets to Clayton Robbins who scores on an easy layup and his 21st point of the night. Ball is bounced off the back of Josiah Long and Blaine Tate gets a bucket for the Bombers. Rebound Ethan Tuma and puts it up and in for a good three. Jackson Corp takes the ball back for the Bombers and tries a three but a foul call. Rebound Clayton Robbins who scores on a wide open three and puts the Zizzers back within four. Lay-in good by Ryder Mclain who gets the ball back for the Zizzers. Rebound and three-ball for Josiah Long, but technical foul is called and is put out of the game. Rhett Gilbert goes to the line for the Bombers, makes both attempts and puts the Bombers back up by seven. Foul on Ethan Tuma and Blaine Tate goes to the line once again for the Bombers, Tate makes 1-2. Bombers now lead 63-57 with about 4:20 to go in the game. Ryder Mclain gets a block and a basket and puts up his seventeenth point of the night, but a foul call and now Mclain is out of the ball game for the Bombers. Tyler Pdowski fouls Clayton Robbins out of the game for The ZIzzers and shoots two more. Hudson Patillo finally gets the ball back to the Zizzers. Zizzers trying desperately for a three as they are still down substantially with not much time left in the game. Bombers keep getting free throw attempts and causing the Zizzers to foul. Blaine Tate making most of the free throws in this half as he fouls out Caleb Cobb now who tries to make a far pass but puts it out of bounds. Two pointer is good by Jared Kraft but rebound by Tate who gets yet another trip to the line.
