The Willow Springs Bears traveled to Seymour to face the Tigers. It was yet another road game for the Bears who will not play a home game until January. The Tigers were (6-1) coming into this contest, while the Bears were (4-2).
The game began with a technical foul on the Tigers and two free throws for the Bears. The Bears and Tigers traded three point shots and baskets in general. There was no absence of offense for either team. Each defense played well, no foul trouble for either team, or tunrover issues. The biggest lead in the first quarter came at the end with a three by Seymour. The Tigers led 24-18 after one quarter.
During the second quarter, both teams continued to be efficient on offense from the beyond and inside the arc. Seymour was able to push to an 8 point lead, during the quarter. Willow Springs fought back and stayed within 4 points as the first half neared the end. Seymour was fouled on a three point shot to end the half and sank all three free throws to close the second quarter and led 37-32.
The Tigers started the third quarter on a 8-0 run and built a 13 point lead. Tunrovers were an issue for the Bears to begin this quarter. Willow Springs responded to the 8-0 run with a three point shot. Once the Bears started scoring in the third quarter, they were able to fight back and get within 2 before the end of the quarter. Seymour was able to take a 5 point lead, 50-45 heading into the fourth quarter.
Seymour started the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run to build a 12 point lead, that would not be the biggest lead for the Tigers, however. Willow Springs was able to respond with a basket but, were not able to fight back, scoring only 3 points the final quarter. The Tigers would go on to win 67-48.
