A use tax in Douglas County will be used as intended as we begin 2025- raises for Douglas County Sheriff’s Office staff. Sheriff Chris Degase says this is his 17th year of working on a budget, and it’s the smoothest one yet. Sheriff Degase says they have had difficulty keeping dispatchers for Douglas County due to low salaries, and he hopes that being able to raise salaries will help keep the positions filled.
