The Missouri State West Plains Grizzlies traveled back to Fitzsimmons-John Arena, this time to take on the home team, Moberly Area Greyhounds on Saturday night. The Grizzlies were outscored by twenty six points in the second half and as a result, were upset by a Score of 76-50.
Summary:
1st Half: Both teams take two trips down the court in the first fifty one seconds. First to score in the game is #1, Javaris Moye for the Greyhounds. Grizzlies have it back and pass the ball around to #5, Shaun Glass who puts the Grizzlies on the board, 3-2. Rebound, Javaris Moye who makes it 5-3. . Several three pointers are shot in the early going for the Greyhounds, mainly by #4, Poopola. The Grizzly lead which was once by one is now a nine point trail as Moye scores another bucket for the Greyhounds. Rebound Grizzlies and the first bucket of the night by #12, Ergie Kougnami followed by another three pointer by Shaun Glass. A foul call and Grizzlies pull within three after two free throws by #13, Ethan Smith. Smith to Shaun Glass and another bucket by Glass, his eighth point of the night. Also with his eighth point of the night, #4,Ade Popoola. Foul call on the Grizzlies and two free throws by #13, Jayden Banks. The Greyhounds lead by a Score of 20-15 with under 9 minutes to go. Rebound and taken away from the hounds and put out by #11, Javian Downey. Rebound by #1, Ryan Richardson for the Grizzlies who scores on the putback. Grizzlies change to a zone with under five minutes to go, but a three pointer for the Greyhounds by #0, KJ Vassar. Popolla scores his thirteenth point of the games as now the Greyhounds lead by three, 28-22. One of these on a long dunk and two at the line. Rebound and a three by #5, Shaun Glass for the Grizzlies. A second three pointer puts Greyhounds up by six by Vassar. Javian Downey comes back in the game for the Grizzlies, Downey is able to cause a foul call and gets to go to the line to shoot two and makes both buckets. Rebound and another bucket by #1, Moye.

2nd Half: #0, KJ Vassar goes extremely hot from the three point line to start the second half. Also a two handed dunk by #20, Lowe for the Greyhounds. Rebounded by #20, Blayne Harris who scores his second three pointer. But rebound and another three pointer by #4, Poopola for the Greyhounds. Greyhounds continue to play full court pressure but finally a three pointer by #20, Riley Whitacker for the Grizzlies. This full court pressure is also distracting the Grizzlies from the shot clock. A time out allows Grizzlies to talks over some things as Ethan Smith scores a long scoop shot, rebounded and shot up and good by #13, Banks for the Greyhounds. #0, Jaylon Hyson misses two free throws at the line but is able to pick it back up on rebound and put it in as Grizzlies trail by as much as twenty points now. With 8:56, several more fouls are called which allow Moye and Lowe to shoot free throws and increase the Greyhound lead to 22. Popoola passes to Lowe and another two handed dunk and now lead by 24. Grizzlies have scored twelve points so far in the second half. Another dunk by #5, Kyles for the Greyhounds. Grizzlies still seem to clearly have very tough getting an easy bucket period. Free throws continue as another foul on Greyhounds as #20, Riley Whitacker shoots two. Rebound and taken by #1, Ryan Richardson who scores from the far side. Ethan Smith makes another bucket as the Greyhound lead pretty far out of range, 70-47 with under 4:00 to go. A second three pointer by #20, Riley Whitacker. Rebound by #0, Vassar who scores on a jumper for the Greyhounds.
